We are looking for an experienced Secretary to join a leading IP firm in their Trade mark team.
The successful candidate will provide full secretarial and administrative support to a qualified Trade Mark Attorney, undertaking ad hoc tasks and projects when required.
The Trade Marks team work closely together to ensure all tasks are carried out in an accurate and timely fashion, so demonstrable team working and communication skills are an absolute must.
Potential candidates will need to be eager to learn, able to work proactively, with a good eye for detail.
CITMA Trade Mark Administrators course with a grade exceeding 60%
Minimum of two years' experience in a Trade Mark/Patent firm, solicitors firm or in house is essential
Confident in dealing with clients on the phone as well as in face to face meetings
Client focused both internally and externally, as well as dealing with overseas clients. Some French/German language skills would be ideal
Understanding basic requirements for filing oppositions and cancelling actions
5 GCSE's grade A-C including Maths and English
Filing UKTM, EUTM, IR (International TM), UK designs, RCD (EU designs), including claiming priority
Dealing with specification queries at the UKIPO, EUIPO, WIPO, and all overseas jurisdictions
Preparing schedules and status reports for client meetings
Fast, accurate audio typing using electronic audio system for the production of letters, agreements and other legal documents. Some copy typing
Instructing foreign associates to prepare and file foreign trade mark applications
Accurate and daily maintenance of filing system
