A leading British institution is growing their legal team with the appointment of a qualified design attorney. The role would suit a patent attorney, trade mark attorney or IP solicitor; and will primarily involve providing day-to day strategic and operational support for all design rights within the company.
The IP team handles all aspects of IP, including the filing, prosecution and enforcement of patent, trade mark and design rights; and works closely with all other internal departments including the RDD teams to ensure that they are fully up to date on the latest IP developments and their implications.
You will be responsible for maintaining a detailed and current knowledge of the local laws in key territories in relation to both the registration and enforcement of designs; devising and implementing filing strategies appropriate for each core area of the business; handling the prosecution for all design applications; and managing more contentious matters such as conflicts that may occur across the world.
Close contact with the in-house patent attorneys is crucial in tailoring, managing and supervising the design protection and filing regime for each of the individual core projects of the business.
