Withers & Rogers adds ten trainee attorneys

International law firm Withers & Rogers has added ten new trainee attorneys covering both patents and trademarks.

Adam Hirst, Georgios Margelis, Harry Strange and Theo Worsley join the firm’s electronics, computing and physics team working with patents in those industries, while Robbie Gauld, Michael Limb and Pawel Pietruszka have joined the firm’s advanced engineering team.

The firm has also added Gemma Boucher and Pollyanna Savva to its trademark team, while Abbie Fisher has joined the firm’s life sciences and chemistry team.

The trainees will work closely with the firm’s experienced patent and trademark attorneys, helping clients to file new patent applications and trademark registrations.

Karl Barnfather, chairman of Withers & Rogers, said: “Our workforce has increased in size and sustained investment in the recruitment and development of talented people is an important part of our future growth strategy.”

“We strive to give our trainees first-hand experience of working as part of a specialist team of intellectual property professionals from day one.”

He added: “As part of their training, they will gain an insight into a wide range of IP-related activities—from filing patent applications, to securing trade mark registrations and gaining experience of live cases.”

The scheme is structured to give newcomers the support and learning opportunities they need to assist them in becoming fully qualified patent and trademark attorneys.

Barnfather revealed the firm plans to recruit eight more trainee patent attorneys in 2018.
