Kempners & Partners snaps Marks & Clerk trademark head

Intellectual property boutique Kempners & Partners has recruited former head of UK trademarks at Marks & Clerk, Matt Sammon.

Sammon, who joins as partner, will focus on global trademark and design portfolios, including clearance strategies, filing strategies, oppositions, cancellations and monitoring.

His practice covers trademark portfolios spanning multiple sectors, such as advertising and design.

Sammon joins from Marks & Clerk, where he worked as head of the firm’s UK trademark practice.

Commenting on the move, Sammon said: “I was attracted to Kempner & Partners because of their ever growing list of stellar clients and straightforward approach, which is based on a desire to innovate and push to deliver a better and more rounded service, at a price that makes sense, and this matches my own ethos.”

Jason Dainty, managing partner at Kempner & Partners, added: “To maintain the quality very best levels of service and advice, we were very keen to ensure that we recruited a leader in the field and with a wealth of experience to match our own, in looking after of some of the best-known brands in the UK and the world.”
