Wolf Greenfield boosts trademark practice

Wolf Greenfield has hired Maria Scungio to boost its trademark practice group.

Scungio will join as a shareholder, working out of the firm’s New York office. She previously served as co-chair of the trademark, copyright and advertising group at Locke Lord, and brings more than 20 years of experience to Wolf Greenfield.

She focuses on clients in the footwear, jewellery, food and beverage, publishing, music and entertainment and pharmaceutical industries. Her practice includes counselling on trademark availability, bringing counterfeit and infringement actions, as well as advice on strategic issues relating to enforcement, acquisition and realignment of intellectual property rights.

Scungio was chair of the AIPPI-US division of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and has served on the AIPPI-US steering division for 10 years as secretary and treasurer.

Doug Wolf, chair of Wolf Greenfield’s trademark and copyright group, said: “We are excited to welcome Maria Scungio to the firm.”

“She has broad knowledge of trademark and copyright strategy for clients in a wide range of industries, allowing us to expand the services we’re able to offer our ever-growing client base in New York.”

Scungio said: “I am pleased to be joining Wolf Greenfield’s outstanding trademark and copyright team.”

“As one of the leading intellectual property law firms in the country, Wolf Greenfield’s strong reputation and commitment to clients is evident, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s success.”
