Jones Day bolsters IP practice

Law firm Jones Day has added Andrea Jeffries and Emily Tait as partners to its intellectual property practice.

Jeffries has joined the firm's Los Angeles office, focusing on IP disputes involving patents, copyright and trademarks. She covers various industries, including computers, semiconductors and the life sciences.

Tait will launch the firm’s new Detroit-based IP practice. Her practice focuses on patents, copyright and trademarks, as well as trade secrets, in a wide range of industries.

Anthony Insogna, chair of Jones Day’s IP practice, said: “The addition of these two accomplished lawyers to our practice—both of whom are leading practitioners in their markets—will further enhance our presence in Southern California and the Midwest.”

Brian Sun, partner in charge of the firm’s Los Angeles office, said: “Andrea Jeffries has produced exceptional results for her clients in highly complex disputes across a number of industries, she is well-known and respected in Los Angeles, and is a tremendous addition to our team.”

Partner in charge of Jones Day’s Detroit office, Tim Melton, said: “It is very appropriate that Emily Tait is joining the firm in its Detroit office—the birthplace of the American automotive industry and a technology hub for advancements in global mobility solutions.”

“Her diverse experience and connections to the Metro Detroit area further solidifies our position as a leading law firm in this region.”
