Merchant & Gould hires patent trio

Merchant & Gould has expanded its New York office with the addition of three new intellectual property attorneys.

Jonathan Berschadsky and Frank DeLucia will join the IP boutique as partners and Luciano Ricondo will join as an associate, all providing expertise in inter partes review litigation, electrical and mechanical matters.

Both Berschadsky and DeLucia join from Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto.

Berschadsky’s practice focuses on patent prosecution and litigation, as well as US and international patent portfolio management.

DeLucia focuses on prosecution and strategic management of patent portfolios, and has experience with inter partes review and patent post-grant proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Luciano works with domestic and foreign patent applications in computers and software, as well as mechanical and electrical areas.

Brian Batzli, CEO and managing director of Merchant & Gould, said: “We are excited to bring aboard two experienced, high-end attorneys in our New York office.”

“They have hit the ground running and already are working with attorneys and clients across our firm.”

Dianna El Hioum, managing partner of the firm’s New York office, added: “Jonathan Berschadsky and Frank DeLucia are both well-known and active members of the New York IP community, and we are thrilled to have them join our office.”

“Luciano Ricondo brings a much-needed set of skills to further support the growing business from our East Coast clients.”

She said: “These three top attorneys are an excellent complement to our mechanical, chemical, and life sciences practices in New York, enabling us to provide a full suite of sophisticated IP legal services to our clients in industries across the board.”
