CIPU enters education partnership

The Center for Intellectual Property Understanding (CIPU) and the Michelson 20MM Foundation are partnering to improve awareness of intellectual property rights.

Michelson focuses on “critical gaps in the world of IP education” and, like previous CIPU partnerships, the two groups will work toward to provide education and information to students and other audiences.

CIPU and Michelson will support the first IP Awareness Summit on 6 November and a course at the University of Southern California, The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Intellectual Property, which is open to undergraduates.

Phil Kim, president of Michelson, said: “CIPU is leading the way in promoting the importance of IP awareness and identifying ways of working together with businesses, organisations and universities to identify how intellectual property impacts people.”

“We look forward to collaborating with CIPU to improve awareness and lower the learning curve for IP rights among students and other audiences.”

Last month, CIPU partnered with the Tusher Center for Management of Intellectual Capital.

Similar to the new partnership with Michelson, CIPU and Tusher will work together to conduct research and spread information about the impact of IP rights and intellectual capital on innovation, economic growth and jobs.
