Star Wars: The Force Awakens parody returns to YouTube
Bad Lip Reading, a YouTuber who dubs others’ footage with comedic dialogue, has had its Star Wars: The Force Awakens parody reuploaded to the video sharing platform after it was taken down over copyright claims.

The parody of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was uploaded to YouTube on 6 April, features Mark Hamill doing an impression of co-star Harrison Ford. It quickly circulated on social media, but was taken down hours later.

Dramatists Play Service, a play-licensing and theatrical publishing agency, took to Twitter to first apologise for and then deny claims that it had lodged a takedown request against the Bad Lip Reading video.

“We are aware of an erroneous claim made by our org to YouTube regarding the video's copyright and are looking into how this occurred,” Dramatists Play Service said on Twitter, later adding: “We have no claim on any works in the video and will be working with YouTube to get the video reinstated ASAP.”

The video is available to view again on YouTube and has amassed almost five million views.
