Rouse opens Cambodia office

Intellectual property boutique Rouse has opened a new office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia.

The firm already has offices in Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Hong Kong, and already works in Cambodia from these offices.

Chris Vale, who currently serves as Hong Kong and Vietnam country manager for the firm, will head up the firm’s new office.

Vale will be supported by Cambodian trademark attorney Sokunvannary Tep, who has been located in the company’s Vietnam office for the last year.

Luke Minford, chief executive of Rouse, said that Southeast Asia represents “a huge growth opportunity” for the firm and its clients.

Minford said: “Cambodia is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia and we know the demand for our services in the country is high—both from our existing client base, and from new and prospective clients.”

“These are also complex and challenging jurisdictions, which is why we focus on ensuring our clients get the right mix of local and international expertise. The depth and breadth of our team in Asia is now unparalleled.”
