Google recovers 10youtube.com

Google has recovered infringing domain 10youtube.com after a UDRP dispute at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum.

Sole panellist Luis Pimenta said that internet searches led users to the 10youtube website, evincing a connection with Google’s youtube.com.

He said that despite the addition of the number 10, it was not sufficient enough to avoid the likelihood of confusion.

On top of this, 10youtube.com resolves to a website that enables users to download and save websites from YouTube, in violation of YouTube’s terms and services. This page also contains various advertisements.

Pimenta said that this proved that the original registrant intentionally attempted to attract users to 10youtube.com using YouTube’s trademarks for commercial gain. The domain was returned to Google.
