iShow wins trademark battle

iShow has been awarded $5.5 million in its trademark infringement lawsuit against Lennar Corporation.

A jury in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington found that Lennar had infringed iShow’s trademark for a ‘NextGen Home Experience’, which was being used with its ‘NextGen’ homes in Florida, Pennsylvania and Ontario.

iShow works with builders and developers to build ‘NextGen Approved’ homes, which are high performance and environmentally friendly.

Lennar offers similar products, including its energy efficient SunStreet homes, which come installed with solar panels on the roof.

iShow said it tried to come to an “amicable understanding” with Lennar over its use of the ‘NextGen Home Experience’ trademark, but the two could not come to an agreement.

Paul Barnett, CEO of iShow, said: “We are very pleased the jury found in favor of iShow in our case against Lennar.”

“It’s been two and a half years coming and several hundred thousand dollars spent on the legal process.”
