Intermountain lays claim to Utah hospital domains
Intermountain Health Care, owner of Utah’s Cedar City Hospital, has recovered 10 infringing domain names that a doctor registered in bad faith.

Dr Randy Delcore of Cedar City, Utah, registered various domains relating to Intermountain’s Cedar City Hospital, such as cedarcityhospital.co.

Intermountain claimed that Delcore had registered the domain names with “no legitimate interest” and was “seeking leverage in his efforts to have his clinic added to the SelectHealth [a health insurance provider] list of ‘in-network’ healthcare providers”.

Before arbitration, Delcore consented to having several of the domains, which contained the prefix ‘intermountain’, transferred to Intermountain.

Sole panellist Robert Badgley said that the remaining domain names were registered without rights or legitimate interests, despite Delcore arguing that he planned to open a hospital in Cedar City.

“The panel concludes that respondent’s intended use of the domain names as bargaining leverage to qualify for complainant’s health insurance network constitutes bad faith.”
