Allen & Overy promotes two in Europe
Allen & Overy has promoted European intellectual property lawyers Frits Gerritzen and Peter Van Dyk to partner.

Gerritzen, who is based in Amsterdam, joined Allen & Overy in 2012 and became counsel in 2014.

He is an experienced IP litigator, handling cases concerning the full range of rights and trade secrets. He focuses on patents, with experience in handling cross-border cases.

Brussels-based Van Dyk joined Allen & Overy 13 years ago.

He advises on information technology and technology-related IP, including licence agreements, research and development agreements, and outsourcing transactions.

These promotions follow the announcements earlier this year that Nicola Dagg will become the new head of the international IP group at Allen & Overy from next month, with Marc Döring now leading the IP litigation practice in London.

David Stone was also made the global head of Allen & Overy’s brands practice.

Dagg said: “IP is now on its way to be a cornerstone of Allen & Overy’s global litigation practice. These two promotions underpin the continued growth of the practice and also support our other strategic goals for the firm. We have consistently re-affirmed our commitment to growing our IP practice and I believe our IP capabilities in Europe are now unrivalled.”
